Nikki Reed Says 'New Moon' Wolves 'Bring A Warmth' To Film

"Twilight" mastermind Stephenie Meyer describes Rosalie Hale as the most beautiful woman in the world — a tall, statuesque vampire with long, wavy, blond hair and eyes resembling violets. Onscreen, 21-year-old beauty Nikki Reed has lived up to that impossible description, endearing herself to fans even as she further antagonizes their beloved Bella Swan.

Rounding out a week of Cullen family interviews that has included Jackson Rathbone, Elizabeth Reaser and Kellan Lutz, we caught up with the refreshingly frank actress to talk about the joys of a half-naked Taylor Lautner, rainbow analysis and why she'll never, ever own a Rob Pattinson doll.

MTV: What's the biggest difference, in your personal opinion, between the three "Twilight" books currently being filmed as the "Saga"?

Nikki Reed: The biggest difference? Well, I know the similarities — it's an ongoing love story. I guess the action increases and the excitement and visual stimulation. But I think "New Moon" really revolves around this intense love triangle, and with "Eclipse," it's more heightened.

MTV: What's your favorite scene in "New Moon"?

Reed: Anything that Taylor Lautner is in. Seriously, the kid is — he's not a kid, he's a young man — but he's incredible. And I'm not saying that because he takes his shirt off in every scene. [Laughs.] Seriously, you forget that he's half-naked in every scene, because he is so incredible. He makes this film amazing.

MTV: Tell us about your favorite new character to join the franchise, who wasn't in the original film.

Reed: All of the wolves. They bring a very obvious warmth. To see people actually interacting and wrestling and touching each other and rolling around in the mud and being a bunch of boys? That was a nice addition. Because the vampires are all very ... cold. It sounds super cliché, but there was a lot of interaction, a lot of human interaction [in "New Moon"]. It was nice.

MTV: You guys have known each other for so long. What do you discuss between takes?

Reed: Um, I suppose all kinds of things. We usually talk about rainbows. [Laughs.] That and how tired we are. That seems to be a very common topic: how exhausted we are.

MTV: As the "Saga" has continued filming, do you find yourself becoming more or less like Rosalie?

Reed: I guess the older I get, the more understanding and forgiving I've become. I'm learning how to see people as people and forgive them for their mistakes — and I guess that is unfolding in Rosalie's life as well.

MTV: What do you think is the secret to the enormous success of the "Twilight" series?

Reed: It's a universal love story. The obvious answer is the books, if you're asking why the films are successful. But if you're asking what people are drawn to, I think it's ideas, situations [and] circumstances that are just out of reach, just out of the realm of possibility. I mean, it's not realistic, but it's this whole idea about living forever. People are fascinated by vampires, because it's the one thing we can't [attain]; it's unachievable. Also, the love these two characters have for each other is relatively unhealthy and unrealistic as well. People are fascinated with situations like that.

MTV: There is so much "Twilight" swag out there now. Do you own any?

Reed: "Twilight" memorabilia? No. [Laughs.] I don't have an Edward doll.

Jackson Rathbone Says Film Has Plenty Of Edward

When MTV News recently caught up with "New Moon" star Jackson Rathbone on the set of his new movie "Girlfriend," we had to ask how much we'd be seeing Jasper Hale in the second installment of the "Twilight" saga.

"I only shot for three weeks, and out of those three weeks that I was [in Vancouver] I think I actually filmed four days," Jackson said. "So, I mean, I'm not so much in 'New Moon.' "

Since Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen departs early in the book, he is largely absent, and the rest of the Cullens aren't seen until the end of the story either.

"It's one of those things where we want to follow as closely to the books as possible," Rathbone said. "In 'New Moon,' you don't see that much of the Cullens. You really don't. So there's not too much of us in there."

Rathbone said he will only be in two scenes in the film. The first, as seen in the original trailer, involves him attacking Bella at her birthday party when she gets a paper cut. The second, he said, centers on a family vote to decide whether Bella gets turned into a vampire or not.

He also said fans shouldn't worry about not getting enough Edward. As has already been announced and shown in the newest trailer, Bella has hallucinations about Edward, allowing Pattinson more screen time.

"I've heard people are concerned about Edward and the Cullens not being in the film, but Edward is very prominent in the film, especially in Bella's mind. The way that [director] Chris Weitz worked it out is beautiful, and I think that people are going to love it," Rathbone said.

Kate Walsh and Ashley Greene's Spa Weekends

As the chilly months approach, stars seek comfort at cozy spas.

Lindsay Lohan missed an alcohol awareness meeting this week, a faux pas that almost landed her in jail. But she, like a few other stars, could not skip a trip to the spa. Check out our list of celebs who used the weekend to open up and say, Ahhhh.

Lindsay Lohan was caught on camera rushing out of the V Room Bar at the Voda Spa in West Hollywood, climbing into a friend's car with a messy bun high on her head. Were they facial-ing or partying; sipping cucumber water or cocktails? Paparazzi couldn't confirm...either way, we hope it helped Lindsay unwind after her terrible week.

Liv Tyler also visited a spa in West Hollywood on Friday. Judging by her hat and sunglasses, it was difficult to tell which treatment she'd received. Her hair was tucked into a low ponytail and despite paparazzis' snapping away, she appeared calm...or maybe that was thanks to the police escorting her back to her car.

Kate Walsh of Private Practice exited Melrose Place's Kate Somerville Spa on Friday. The spa is known for its skincare and nutrition center, which may be where Walsh popped in. In shorts and a tank, she appeared smiling before cameras looking refreshed and calm as she carried a bottle of sparkling water. Cheers! Way to start an October weekend.

Ashley Greene relaxed with a pedicure on Friday. In sweats and flip-flops, Greene and a friend giggled and smiled for cameras as they a Vancouver nail salon. It was visible that Greene didn't get her digits done as well, but her toes sparkled with a blood-red polish in true Twilight tradition.

'Eclipse' Gets One More Vampire: Kirsten Prout As Lucy 'Kyle XY' co-star joins the 'Twilight' family as a vampire from Jasper's past.

Filming on the Vancouver set of "Eclipse" is getting close to winding down after a nearly three-month shoot, but vampire casting news continues to trickle in. The latest addition to the "Twilight" family is 19-year-old Kirsten Prout, who will play the role of Lucy, according to a report from E! News.

Prout is best known as a co-star of the ABC Family sci-fi series, "Kyle XY," in which she played Amanda Bloom, a neighbor and love interest of Kyle, the cloned human at the center of the action. She appeared alongside Jennifer Garner in 2005's "Elektra," and in his review for that movie, Kurt Loder called her "plucky in an agreeably unirritating way" and said she "suggests a pint-size Renée Zellweger."

In the "Twilight" saga, Lucy is a key figure in Jasper Cullen's (Jackson Rathbone) backstory, having helped create a vampire army with Maria (fellow franchise newcomer Catalina Sandino Moreno), who turned Jasper into a vampire, and Nettie.

Prout won't be the only new vampire showing up in "Eclipse." Fourteen-year-old Jodelle Ferland will play Bree, a young vampire who has only recentlybeen turned. Xavier Samuel is set to portray the vampire Riley. And, while the character of Victoria has been seen in earlier films, Bryce Dallas Howard will step into that key role for "Eclipse" after replacing Rachelle Lefevre in July.

While shooting gets close to wrapping up, the cast is still busy in Vancouver. Kristen Stewart is back in Canada after a quick trip to Los Angeles. And after filming outside Boston on the film "Girlfriend," Rathbone has more "Eclipse" filming still to come.

'Eclipse' Casting News: 'Kyle XY' Actress Kirsten Prout Lands Role Of Lucy

With filming on "Eclipse" wrapping in just a few weeks, we were sure all the casting news for the third "Twilight" installment was far behind us. But look what we have here: another cold one joins the lineup!

According to BD Horror News, "Kyle XY" actress Kirsten Prout will play the part of vampire Lucy. As you may recall, Lucy figures prominently into Jasper's (Jackson Rathbone) backstory, as she helped form a bloodsucker army along with the mood-manipulator's maker Maria and fellow vamp Nettie. She was later killed by Jasper and Maria after turning on them. In the novel, she is described as tall, blond and pale, meaning the casting of Kirsten couldn't be more spot on.

If you're not a "Kyle XY" fan you may also recognize Kirsten from her breakout role as Jennifer Garner's protege Abby Miller in the 2005 comic book flick "Electra" or T.V. appearances on "The Dead Zone" and "Stargate SG-1."

It looks like we may also need to add the actress to our list of Saga stars who Twitter. We think @kristenprout is her name, though her account isn't verified (and her first name seems to be misspelled) and it looks as though she hasn't posted since August. Perhaps her Twitter-happy costars will be the inspiration she needs to write a few 140-words-or-less missives about her time in Vancouver (or start a for-sure real account).

Now That the New Moon Soundtrack is Here, Bring on the Eclipse Soundtrack Rumours

You've barely had enough time to listen to the entirety of the New Moon soundtrack -- never mind learning the music for "The Meadow" in time for your piano recital -- and already we're on to reporting rumours about what songs will appear on the soundtrack to Eclipse.

You can blame/thank Muse for that, Twi-hards, as the British rockers (a.k.a. Stephenie Meyer's favourite-est band ever) told MTV that there's an excellent chance they'll supply a tune for the third Twilight installment.

"It's great to have the feeling of being a new band again in so many people's eyes or minds," said the band's drummer Dominic Howard, while talking about the benefits of finding Muse is one of those vampire bands the kids like. "We might even do something for the third one," he hinted. "How about that for a scoop?"

Of course, Eclipse isn't due out in theatres until June 30, 2010 at least, so we'll just have to keep up the wild, rumour-mongering stories until anything more concrete is determined. Still, as Howard himself points out, Muse has some killer connections on the third film, never mind their solid rep from the songs they supplied for the first two Twilight soundtracks.

We all know author Meyer counts herself a fan. Same goes, it turns out, for Eclipse's director, David Slade.

"[Slade is] kind of a friend of ours 'cause he directed about three or four of our videos for the second album, and he's a really great video director," he told MTV. "I know he did that really great kind of sick horror [film 30 Days of Night] which was a bit of a vampire/zombie vibe, wasn't it? So I think he's a great director, and he's quite a funny character as well. So, yeah, we might do something for him as well."

Until then, keep on familiarizing yourself with Muse's contribution to the New Moon soundtrack, "I Belong to You." We've got it streaming -- along with a preview of the album's 14 other tracks -- right here. You're welcome.
