'Breaking Dawn' Won't Come With R-Rating

Underage Twi-hards, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Summit has no plans to make Breaking Dawn R-rated, despite the racier content in this book than Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.

Distribution chief Richie Fay spills, "I don't see it ever becoming an R-rated movie. The middle road we have to travel is a mutual respect as to staying true to the book, but not turning off your audience."

Sounds right on target with what many of you thought about making an R-rated film. One JSYK reader said, "No. no. no. no. this is a horrible idea. more than half of twilight fans are under 18. i'm guessing most of these will either have to sneak in or not watch breaking dawn. they are going to lose sooo many customers if it is rated R."

Good news: The movie house behind Breaking Dawn is listening to you.
Richie continues, "It's always with the eye of making Stephenie Meyer happy and making the audience happy. I can't say for a fact, but I just don't see us getting into an R-rated area with any of the Twilight titles."
