Ah, Internet polls, the bane of every elitist who thinks he knows better than the majority. Even if he's right, the Internet doesn't care; it laughs at elitist, taunting him with the power of democracy.
The Internet (or "the 'net," as cool people call it, we're told) has struck again this morning, in the form of a Vanity Fair poll asking readers to vote on the world's most handsome man. On a list including such legendary hunks as Denzel Washington, George Clooney and Johnny Depp, it's relative newcomer Robert Pattinson who currently sparkles the most, with the Twilight heartthrob earning a staggering 59 per cent of the vote. In second place? Brad Pitt, with only 12 per cent. Poor Benjamin Button never stood a chance against Edward Cullen.
Following behind them are Johnny Depp (9 per cent), Hugh Jackman (4 per cent), and Hugh Jackman and Taylor Kitsch (both 3 per cent).
Of course, now that the word's out, there's no way Twilight fans are going to let 23-year-old Pattinson win with only 59 per cent. Come on, Twi-hards! You can do better than this!
