Filming on the Vancouver set of "Eclipse" is getting close to winding down after a nearly three-month shoot, but vampire casting news continues to trickle in. The latest addition to the "Twilight" family is 19-year-old Kirsten Prout, who will play the role of Lucy, according to a report from E! News.
Prout is best known as a co-star of the ABC Family sci-fi series, "Kyle XY," in which she played Amanda Bloom, a neighbor and love interest of Kyle, the cloned human at the center of the action. She appeared alongside Jennifer Garner in 2005's "Elektra," and in his review for that movie, Kurt Loder called her "plucky in an agreeably unirritating way" and said she "suggests a pint-size Renée Zellweger."
In the "Twilight" saga, Lucy is a key figure in Jasper Cullen's (Jackson Rathbone) backstory, having helped create a vampire army with Maria (fellow franchise newcomer Catalina Sandino Moreno), who turned Jasper into a vampire, and Nettie.
Prout won't be the only new vampire showing up in "Eclipse." Fourteen-year-old Jodelle Ferland will play Bree, a young vampire who has only recentlybeen turned. Xavier Samuel is set to portray the vampire Riley. And, while the character of Victoria has been seen in earlier films, Bryce Dallas Howard will step into that key role for "Eclipse" after replacing Rachelle Lefevre in July.
While shooting gets close to wrapping up, the cast is still busy in Vancouver. Kristen Stewart is back in Canada after a quick trip to Los Angeles. And after filming outside Boston on the film "Girlfriend," Rathbone has more "Eclipse" filming still to come.
